Essex Region Conservation Authority Campground Reservation service Terms of Use

By using this Essex Region Conservation Authority Campground Reservation Service, you are agreeing to the following Policy/Terms of Use. Please read them carefully.

Reservation Policies

The Essex Region Conservation Authority Reservation Service is available by telephone 1(866) 878-2470 between 09:00 am and 05:00 pm Monday to Friday and on statutory holidays, or online 24-hours a day at www.essexcamping.ca.

All camping reservations require the signature of a person 21 years of age or older at the time the permit is issued. The person signing the permit must occupy the site.

All camping reservations (serviced or un-serviced campsite) require full payment of the “Camping Fee” for the entire duration of stay, plus the non-refundable reservation fee, at time that reservation is made. All reservations can be made up to 6:00 p.m. on the day prior to the expected arrival date.

Payment must be made by credit card for internet and telephone reservations. Cash and debit cards are accepted for any in-person reservations made at the park.

In case of multiple reservations for the same time period, each campsite must be registered under the name of the actual occupant.

Once a reservation has been confirmed by either phone or internet, changes and cancellations must be made by 11:00 p.m. prior to your arrival date. Please have your booking number ready when cancelling or changing your reservation. A $9.00 fee will be charged for each cancellation or change.

Campsite reservations are held until noon on the day following your scheduled arrival date.

A minimum stay policy of three nights on holiday weekends is in effect. Holiday weekends are considered to be Victoria Day (May), Canada Day (July), August Civic (August) and Labour Day (September).

Reservations can be made between March 1st, 2010 and October 17th, 2010 for camping dates within the year.

Alcohol bans: A total alcohol ban will be in place on all campsites during the Victoria Day weekend.

All visitors to the campground must purchase a daily vehicle pass and park in designated parking areas. Visitors are admitted from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily. Hours may be restricted at other times at the discretion of the Superintendent or Designate. Visitors must vacate property by 11:00 p.m. nightly.

To reserve a seasonal campsite, book a group site, or rent a facility, please call the Conservation Areas directly under 1-888-487-4760 or (519) 776-5209.

Your campsite fee entitles you to the following:

  • One picnic table per site
  • Parking for one vehicle per site (a second vehicle per site is allowed for an additional fee of $8 per night)
  • One fire pit per site
  • A maximum of 6 people can occupy a campsite, except that a maximum of 4 people can occupy a campsite on the Victoria Day Holiday weekend. The only exception would be a single family unit (parents and children under 18). If any maximum is exceeded, another site is required.
  • Check in cannot be guaranteed until 2:00 p.m. on arrival date.
  • Campsite must be vacated by 2:00 p.m. on departure date.
  • You are allowed up to 3 pieces of shelter equipment on your campsite. Only one of these pieces can be a tent trailer, house trailer, motor home, or self-propelled camping unit.

Confirmation

Confirmation number: A confirmation number will be provided at the end of every completed reservation. If you do not receive a confirmation number, your reservation is not complete.

It is important that you take note of this confirmation number and bring it with you to the campground. It must be given to Park staff so that they can register you into the campground.

For reservations made by telephone, you have the option of providing an email address to receive an electronic confirmation, and/or you may want to write down the confirmation number when you receive it verbally from the Customer Service Associate.

For reservations made on-line, you should enter your email address to receive an electronic copy of your confirmation. You can also print out the confirmation screen, and/or write down the confirmation number.

Changes and cancellations before check-in

Changes before check-in: You can change your reservation until 11 p.m. the day prior to your arrival. Changes may include changes in date, campsite type, service type, etc. Changes can be made online or by telephone. You will be charged a fee of $9.00 to make a change.

Cancellations before check-in: Cancellations can be done online or by telephone. You will be charged a fee of $9.00 to cancel. A reservation can be cancelled before you check-in to the campground, subject to the following:

If you cancel your reservation prior to 11:00 p.m. on the day prior to your scheduled day of arrival, you will get a full refund for all of the camping fees you paid when you made your reservation. The original $12.00 reservation fee is non-refundable and, in addition, you will be charged a cancellation fee of $9.00 for this transaction.

Cancellations made after 11:00 p.m. the day prior to your scheduled day of arrival and before noon the day after your scheduled day of arrival will result in you losing the fees paid for one night of camping. You will be refunded the fees paid for the rest of your stay. The original $12.00 reservation fee is non-refundable and, in addition, you will be charged a cancellation fee of $9.00 for this transaction. If you do not cancel your reservation before noon the day of your arrival and you fail to show up at the park, you are deemed a “No-show”.

Changes and cancellations after check-in

Changes after check-in: We will do our best to accommodate any changes you request to your campsite once you are registered. It is important to note that changes cannot be guaranteed and can only be accommodated if a suitable campsite is available. If a change is requested, there may be a difference in the new camping fee charged based on the services provided at the new campsite. The camping fee will be adjusted but the $9.00 change fee will not apply. Availability may be limited.

Shortening your stay: We recognize that plans change. There is no penalty for leaving earlier than your original day of departure, provided that you notify the campground prior to the check-out time on the day you want to leave. The $9.00 cancellation fee will not apply and the unused portion of your camping fees will be reimbursed. Please notify park staff at your earliest possible convenience if you plan on leaving early. This will give other campers an opportunity to enjoy the park. Please note that minimum three night stays are in effect for holiday weekends and reimbursements during these weekends do not apply.

No-Shows

No-shows: If you do not arrive at the campground by noon on the day after your scheduled day of arrival, and if you have not contacted the park to inform them of your late arrival, you will be deemed a “No-show”.

When you are deemed a “No-show”, your reservation will be cancelled and your campsite will be made available to other campers.

If you are deemed a “No-show”, you can claim your refund of the total camping fees paid, minus a penalty of two-nights camping fee. This is provided that you contact the park within 30 days of your originally scheduled departure date. The original $12.00 reservation fee is non-refundable.

Thirty days after your originally scheduled departure date your camping fees become non-refundable.

Closures

If Holiday Beach must close a campsite or a campground for operational reasons, you will be refunded all fees. We will try and provide you with as much notice as possible if we encounter this situation.
